Terms of service

Last updated 15 March 2026.

By using EngTest you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please stop using the service.

1. The service

EngTest provides AI-scored mock English proficiency tests modeled on the format of TOEFL, IELTS, and PTE. We are not affiliated with ETS, IDP, Cambridge, or Pearson. Our scores are an honest estimate but cannot be substituted for the real test.

2. Your account

  • One human, one account. You can have multiple devices logged in — but you can't share login credentials with another person.
  • Provide truthful information. Misrepresenting yourself, especially during the registration of an org-invitation, breaks these terms.
  • You're responsible for activity under your account. Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.

3. Payments

  • All prices are in INR unless otherwise stated.
  • Credits do not expire.
  • Refunds are governed by the refund policy.

4. Acceptable use

  • Don't try to reverse-engineer the scoring pipeline.
  • Don't upload responses on behalf of someone else, except as a registered tutor / institute admin with explicit candidate consent.
  • Don't scrape the test library or attempt to enumerate IDs.
  • Don't paste content (essays etc.) that you don't own the rights to.

5. Intellectual property

Test items, item-type frameworks, rubric prompts, and scoring code are owned by EngTest Labs Pvt. Ltd. Candidate responses remain owned by the candidate, but you grant us a non-exclusive licence to process them for scoring, aggregated benchmarking, and quality assurance.

6. Limitation of liability

Scores are estimates. If you receive a different score on the official test, that's expected — our pledge is "within 0.5 bands 89% of the time", not "perfect". To the extent permitted by law, our maximum liability is capped at the amount you paid us in the prior 12 months.

7. Termination

You can close your account any time by writing to support@engtest.example. We can suspend an account that violates these terms; we'll try to email before doing so unless the violation is fraud-related.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are subject to the courts of Pune, Maharashtra.
